Last week, en route to Sipitang, had discussion with a Chinese engineer. He is in his early 40s with a medium size consultancy firm. He was telling me how he gave his nieces and nephews who go for studies abroad, supplementary credit cards. OMG!I was a bit stunned at this. His reason was that he is obligated (willingly tho') to assist them in monetary terms so as they can concentrate on their studies and to build up their self confidence. I guess sometimes, with money, it does give u the "extra" edge to be confident. To let them travel with no worries for money.
He said that when he was a student abroad he did not manage to travel as much as he wanted and soak the valuable experiences. To date he had given 10 supplementary credit cards! and miraculously none of them abuse the privilege. The arrangement is - they can charge anything on the card, and he will be footing the bill!!! They however, have to surrender the credit card upon graduating! One of the nephews is a lawyer now and he is doing the same thing as his uncle!!! OMG! I really am amazed! imagine the ripple effect of this generous action. This is so "Pay it Forward" concept.
Yepppp!!!Generosity had not died people!!There is still hope for goodness in this world......
On to a lighter note, above is a close up pic of my "Harrison Ford" bouquet. They still survive after 1 week!!! Below are pics of my first ever try at "spraying/adding/roses" to the otherwise limp rattan bag. This was meant to be a christmas present to my niece, but upon seeing the result, I'm finding it hard to let it go......wakakakakkaakak!
